The Validata was my first proper Arduino project. It was effectively a sonic trip wire; using a HC-SR04 sensor to detect if there was movement.
The project actually made it past production. However, sadly it never saw proper deployment. In beta-testing the battery lasted longer than expected (17 days!).
If I was to revisit this project, I would build it completely differently and introduce a ball-tilt sensor to detect any physical shocks.
Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll revisit the project any time soon.
